Too often we give children answers to remember rather than problems to solve.
It is an honor to serve the students and families of the Susquehanna Township School District where our vision is World class. Every day. In every way.
Our core values embody who we are as a district and who we strive to become as a community of learners:
To this end, we are committed to providing state-of-the-art technology to enhance classroom instruction and provide authentic, real-world experiences in the use of technology as a learning tool. We are fully committed to engaging our parents and our community partners in those critical conversations about the safety of the learning environment for all students and staff, and will continue to seek innovative methods for supporting learners at all academic levels. For example, dual enrollment, AP courses, internships, job shadowing and our First Choice graduation initiatives are just a few ways in which we will continue to support students across the learning continuum.
Moreover, we believe that the diversity within the Susquehanna Township School District is one of our greatest strengths and a point of pride. Our business, teacher and parent advisories, as well as our partnerships with local colleges and universities ensure that we are meeting the rapidly evolving needs of our students and the demands of a global workplace.
We are also committed to demonstrating the integrity and ethical behavior that we hope to instill within our students. To that end, we strive to maintain a culture of transparency and open communication for the benefit of our community, our district and our students.
Finally, we have formulated the following goals in order to operationalize our core values and our vision of world class:
We recognize that world class is a goal toward which we strive. Our Journey of HOPE (Hanna’s Organizational Performance Excellence) and our strategic plan are the mechanisms by which we intend to achieve our vision for every child, K-12. Again, I am honored to serve this great district.
Yours in education,
Tamara C. Willis, Ph.D.
