Letter From
the Principal

Dear Visitor,

I’d like to begin by welcoming everyone to the Susquehanna Township High School (STHS) Community.  STHS students and staff stand for being “Strong in Character” and “Doing the Right Thing” on a daily basis.

Susquehanna Township High School has an excellent educational program taught by a talented and dedicated faculty.  STHS is a place where essential skills are learned, knowledge is explored and ideas are critically analyzed and evaluated.

Please allow me to highlight the various aspects of STHS that benefit students:

-        STHS offers a wide range of academic classes, including 18 Honors and Advanced Placement courses, two foreign    languages and a variety of college preparatory electives.  Concurrent enrollment in Harrisburg Area Community College courses is possible for enrichment.  Our students have the advantage of selecting a schedule of eight courses a year.

-         A brand new School of The Arts featuring three tracts:  Theatre Arts, Visual/Fine Arts and Production Lab.

-        The Keiser-Fearen Library Media Center is a dynamic learning area where students are frequently found connecting to the world at large by accessing books, databases, magazines, the World Wide Web, historical documents and so much more.

-         Extra-curricular activities encompass a broad range of boys’ and girls’ athletic teams, a diverse array of clubs, and a strong student leadership group.

-        The STHS counseling office houses a College and Career Center where students and parents are welcome and encouraged to use the resources.  Throughout the year, our guidance newsletter highlights scholarship opportunities, SAT/ACT testing dates, financial aid information and job opportunities.  The Center also hosts visits by college admission officers who meet with junior and senior students.

At STHS, we strive for a superior education for all students. We are proud of our tradition and committed to the strong and vibrant community in which we live.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you have any questions, concerns or ideas.  Thank you for taking the time to learn more about our institution.

Sincerely,

Ralph S. Lovelidge
