STSD Retirees Honored at Brunch

Eleven individuals whose cumulative career experiences at Susquehanna Twp. School District eclipse more than 200 years were honored at a Retiree Recognition Brunch on June 10, at the high school in the cafeteria.
Staff who attended an end-of-year professional development celebration in the auditorium joined those who retired during the 2015-16 school year as well as retirees from previous years. Brunch was served by high school cafeteria staff, and a program was emceed by Kermit Leitner, retired high school principal.
Personal remarks were given in honor of Daphne Champagne, district volunteer program coordinator, by Mark Sussman, school board director; Susan Daniels, paraprofessional, Kathy Lee, learning support resource teacher, and Cathy Klunk, paraprofessional, from Thomas W. Holtzman Jr. Elementary School by Mike Selvenis, principal; Camilla Dodds, speech pathologist at Susquehanna Twp. Middle School by Ken Edwards, principal; and James Sledge, English teacher from Susquehanna Twp. High School by Andrae Martin, assistant high school principal.
Those retiring but not present included: Cynthia Bydlon, paraprofessional, Sara Lindemuth/Anna Carter Primary School; Lori DiClemente, math teacher, Lawrence Nawa, social studies teacher, and Alana Schoor, Susquehanna Twp. High School; and Joseph Stouffer, head custodian, Thomas W. Holtzman Jr. Elementary School.
Retirees received either an engraved presentation plate or red canvas sports chair and a "gold" pass for free admissions to all sporting events in the district.  Retirees were also listed in the 104th Commencement Exercises printed program for the Class of 2016.
The retiree recognition event was organized through the human resources department with Kathy McCool, director, and Trish Green, administrative assistant. Kermit Leitner and Susan Anthony served on the organizing committee.
