Press Release - Special Board Meeting
SUSQUEHANNA TOWNSHIP SCHOOL DISTRICT
February 15, 2017
The Susquehanna Township School District regrets to announce that Dr. Tod Kline will be resigning from the position of Superintendent. His resignation will be effective Friday, June 30, 2017, so Dr. Kline will be serving as Superintendent through the end of the 2016-2017 school year. Dr. Kline has assured the Board that he will be actively working up to the very last day of his employment with the District to continue the process of positive change he has overseen since his first day of work for the District.
Dr. Kline will be leaving us to return to his hometown where he will assume the position of Superintendent for the Waynesboro School District. The School Board has a plan for the resulting vacancy, and with Dr. Kline’s assistance, we are working with the administrative team to foster a smooth transition of leadership. In a moment, we will approve his resignation, but again, Dr. Kline will see our District through the end of the school year, allowing for a collaborative, methodical and straightforward transition.
Plans for Transition
The Susquehanna Township School District is pleased to announce that the School Board is currently working with Dr. Tamara Willis to assume the Superintendent position here in our District. Our goal is to have the Superintendent contract for Dr. Willis on the agenda at an upcoming workshop meeting, and then to be approved at the subsequent regular board meeting.
The School Board intends to continue the direction and initiatives developed in our District under the previous leadership of Dr. Kline and Dr. Willis. The Board believes Dr. Willis shares and embraces our vision, and is fully capable of leading our District as we work toward our goals. Dr. Kline and Dr. Willis will begin a collaborative transition, and the district will immediately begin the process of an assistant superintendent search.
